Matthew 7:21–23
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
These verses emphasizes that a genuine relationship with God goes beyond outward appearances or actions—it’s about the heart and obedience to God’s will.
Matthew 25:21
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”
Do we go through the motions of being a Christian? When we stand before God there is no pretense. Many are busy doing but are they doing the will of God. The greatest we can do is not just done out of doing, it is done through the will of God. We are to be faithful following God’s call in our lives.
Our greatest achievements are not just the result of being busy; they come from purposeful effort and determination following God’s call in our life.
Proverbs 23:7 NKJV
“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. ‘Eat and drink!’ he says to you, But his heart is not with you.” A person can be sincere in his heart but be sincerely wrong.
Sincerity and the power of inner thought define who we truly are. Is our focus on the one true God of the Bible or the things of this world?
