Colossians 3:1–4 (NKJV)
3 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
“Since” you have been raised with Christ. Having accepted Christ, you were raised with Him. How we live our lives is an affirmation of our faith in Christ.
Those who have accepted Christ no longer live for the world or the things of the world. The focus of a follower of Christ is Christ Himself.
An important question every professing Christian must ask is, “Where is my focus?” The world or Christ. The believer in Christ has been liberated from the enslavement of this world. The believer is no longer bound by the sin of this world. Followers of Christ are freed to live their lives for Christ.
Another question is, was my acceptance of Christ for Heaven or a relationship with Christ?
Our focus is important. Christians do not set their focus on the world. We live in the world, but we do not live for the world. Christ is now seated at the Father’s right hand, but one day he will come to take His people Home.
This is what Paul would say to us…” Since you have accepted Christ in your life then live your life for Him and not for the world.”
