John 14:6
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Wherever Billy Graham preached you saw this verse, John 14:6. I read that this verse was on his grave marker.
Jesus stated there was no other way to salvation but through Him. He and He only were and are the way to eternal life. Jesus not only shows the way to eternal life, He is the only way. Hebrews 10:19–20 tells us to hold fast to our confession of faith in Jesus. “Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, eternal life. There is no other way but through Jesus.”
Pilate asked Jesus, “What is truth?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”
In John 14:8 Philip asked Jesus to “show us the Father.” In verse 9 Jesus responded with “…Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”
The celebration of life. We know true life only through Jesus and Him alone. Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life.” Easter is the celebration of life. Life found only in and through Jesus Christ.
