Matthew 28:5–10 (NKJV)
5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”
8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy and ran to bring His disciples word.
9 And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, “Rejoice!” So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.
10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.”

Happy Resurrection Day!

The fear of the Lord should not be found in the life of a Christian!

God knows who is seeking Him. He knows the heart of those who seek after Him. God does not bring judgment to those who seek Him. Christ has now risen from the dead and conquered death.

The Christian, the believer in Jesus Christ is a witness of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection.

I am watching the Mass from the Vatican as I type this. They show Christ on the cross. Jesus is no longer on the cross. He was taken from the cross and laid in the tomb. On Resurrection Sunday, the women went to the tomb and made a remarkable discovery…Jesus was not there! He had conquered death! Because He conquered death, those who have placed their faith and trust in Him no longer have to fear death.

Fear not! We not only do not have to fear death, but we also do not have to fear others! We as believer’s followers of Christ are not to sit idly by but are to go and tell others about Christ.

The women left the tomb with fear AND great joy. They went to share the great encouraging words of the angel. The women were obedient. They were the first witnesses to the resurrection of Christ. They did not hesitate, waiting to go. They immediately went sharing the resurrection of Christ.

We too must not wait but go immediately tell others about the living Savior who lives in our lives.
