Acts 2:42
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

Satan would like nothing more than to destroy the church. Luke writing about the early church wrote not only about the growth of the church but how Satan tried to destroy it.

Today is no different. Satan is alive and well in the world and in the church. To continue steadfastly is to persevere, endure, stick, and persist. In the calling of God. God’s people do not quit in doing God’s work. God’s people are persistent in following God. God’s people are steadfast working and fellowshipping steadfastly moving forward in carrying out God’s purpose.

The church is not the world. The church is family bought by the blood of Christ. There is one message of the church. It is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Nothing else is needed in the church. The church has been given the Great Commission.

Matthew 28:19–20 (NKJV)
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

The church is “supposed to be made up of Born-Again Believers.” The church comes together in fellowship sharing in the love of Jesus Christ.

There are demands upon the Christian. Each one of us is to live out the virtues of kindness, long suffering, and love. This is not only done on Sunday mornings in the sanctuary. It is carried out in everyday life. There is no self-centeredness in the church. Everything in the church is to be God centered. It to be carried out in the world. When others see us in everyday life our love for Christ and the church should be witnessed.

We live in a fallen world. A world that is dying and going to Hell should see Jesus in the life of others. This old hymn comes to mind:

1 While passing through this world of sin,
And others your life shall view,
Be clean and pure without, within,
Let others see Jesus in you.

2 Your life’s a book before their eyes,
They’re reading it through and through;
Say, does it point them to the skies,
Do others see Jesus in you?

3 What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
In mansions beyond the blue,
To find some souls that you have won;
Let others see Jesus in you.

4 Then live for Christ both day and night,
Be faithful, be brave, and true,
And lead the lost to life and light;
Let others see Jesus in you.

Chorus:
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.
