5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

These verses describe a life of total dependence and commitment to God! The object of our trust is in the Lord. The TOTAL dependence and commitment to God is important!
Trust does not come from the head but from the heart. It is not the result of reasoning; it is the result of believing.
Romans 4:3 “For what does the Scripture say? ‘Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.’” When Abraham leaned on his own understanding, he failed miserably.
Trust is an all or nothing proposal. This is why the psalmist wrote, “TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART!”
