1 Peter 2:9–10 (NKJV)
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
God loves all people. But! There was a time we all lived outside of God’s love. Once we accepted Christ into our lives we became special because we accepted God’s Son, Jesus, into our lives.
Believers in Jesus Christ are special people to God. God loves all people, but all people are not a part of the family of God. Once we accept Christ we become a part of the chosen generation of God. Christians are the family of God. Christians are a new race of people. It does not matter where a Christian comes from, he is now a part of the greatest family on earth…the Family of God. There is a change in the follower of Christ.
The change in a person is not and outwardly. God has placed his divine nature within the follower of Christ. The seed of salvation has been planted and now it is growing. When a seed is planted in a garden it is not there to just exist. The seed is to grow to produce its fruit. Christians are born again not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible seed, the word of God. This seed is alive in each believer.
There is a transformation that takes place in the believer’s life, his heart, mind and spirit. The believer receives a renewed mind. A mind not set on the things of this world, but on God. This is why Paul wrote, in
Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
You may have been a Christian for a day, or fifty years; know that you are special to God. Live your life for God in everything you do. Allow your words to proclaim the praise of God. Let your actions praise God.
