Romans 5:8–9
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Simple statement…the person who sins is a sinner. Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Sin is anything we say, do or think that is displeasing to God.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The question is where will you spend eternity?
The salvation of God has given us is more than spending eternity with God after death. It is about our relationship with God now.
Ephesians 2:10–11 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Therefore, remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands”
Matthew 22:37–38 “Jesus said to him, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.”
We cannot accept God’s salvation and continue to live for the world.
Romans 6:1–4
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
