Ephesians 6:14 (NKJV) — 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist
with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.
We live in a day of lies. It is a great strategy of Satan. False teachers are all
around us. Christians must stand for the truth. Before we can stand for the
truth we must know the truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the
life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)
The follower of Christ cannot live in the truth of God and the lies of the
world. The deception of Satan has infiltrated every part of life. It cannot be
allowed in God’s church, the life of God’s people.
The Christian cannot fight the wiles of Satan alone. We not only need to
know the truth of God’s Word we must live it. We do not live our lives in
isolation. The devil is very cunning and clever. He knows the Word of God
and uses it to deceive and lead people away from God. We need the church
and fellow Christians. We need the love and support of our brothers and
sisters in the church.
There are false teachers who infiltrate the church. Satan uses them to lead
people away from the truth of God. We need the church that teaches and
preaches the Word of God. Satan binds the lives of people with lies. God set
people free. John 8:32 says, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth
shall make you free.” We find freedom in the truth of God! We are set free
by the Word of God.
God’s Word has boundaries. The boundaries are our protection from the lies
of Satan. God has set a hedge of protection around us. Satan approaches
God and asked in Job 1:10, “Have You not made a hedge around him, around
his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed
the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.”
The successful Christian lives in God’s protection. God’s blessings are not
that of material gain but the presence of God in our lives. The blessings are
knowing we walk with God and He with us.
Choose today and everyday to stand firm in the truth of God’s Word.
