Romans 3:23–26 (NKJV) — 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory
of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is
in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood,
through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance
God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to
demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just
and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Romans 7:24 (NKJV) — 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me
from this body of death?
All have sinned against God! Jesus died on the cross for all people. Those
who receive God’s salvation come into a relationship with Him that is eternal.
Those who reject God’s salvation spend eternity separated from Him.
There is only one remedy for spiritual death. It is found in Jesus. The apostle
Paul asks the question we all must ask, “Who will deliver me from this body
of Death? Jesus answered this question in John 14:6: “Jesus said to him, ‘I
am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through Me.’”
A person may have grown up in the church, even made a public profession
of faith, been baptized and not be saved. He may be a preacher, deacon, or
even a Sunday school teacher and not be saved. Salvation is more than an
intellectual knowledge of God. Salvation is giving ones life to God. Jesus said
in Matthew 7:21–23, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter
the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22
Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your
name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your
name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from
Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
Does your life provide evidence your profession. Words are cheap. As the old
saying goes, “Action speaks louder than word.”
