I woke up thinking about the existence of God. I was not doubting His
existence but was amazed at how much we, “I” take His existence for
granted. I wanted to list all the verses from the Bible about His being but
soon realized it could not be done in a simple morning devotion. But I can
list a few.
The Bible is not ambiguous about the existence of God. From the first verse
throughout the Bible, we see the existence of God at work in His creation.
These as just random verses found throughout the Bible about God’s
existence.
Genesis 1:1,“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Isaiah 44:6, “Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the
LORD of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.
Because God was in the beginning then God existed before the beginning.
God is the creator all things. Colossians 1:16, “For by Him all things were
created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were
created through Him and for Him.”
Hebrews 1:3, “who being the brightness of His glory and the express image
of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He
had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on
high.”
Isaiah 44:6, “Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the
LORD of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.”
God has spoken. He is. He is the First and the Last. Everything in between
exists because of Him.
Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper
than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit,
and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of
the heart.” God’s Word is powerful. His Word is living. He knows
the mind of all people. He knows the thoughts and even the intent of all
people. This should be a comfort to all believers in Christ. Even today with
all that is happening in the world. God knows!
Jesus said in Revelation 22:13, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the
Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” And in Revelation 22:20–21, “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
