Exodus 3:14 “And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus
you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
When Moses led the Children of Israel out of captivity to the Promise Land
he did not do it in his own power nor authority. His leadership came from
God.
Today God calls us to follow Him. Jesus was the visible image of God. We
look forward to Christmas Day. We celebrate God coming to earth. Jesus is
the visible image of God. He is more than man. He is God! We celebrate
Christmas not because of the birth of a baby, even though Jesus came in the
form of a baby. We celebrate Christmas because God came into the world.
Paul wrote to Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:15, “…that Christ Jesus came into the
world to save sinners…”
The following verses are some of the “I am’s” of Jesus found in John’s
Gospel:
John 6:35 “And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes
to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
John 6:41 “The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, “I am
the bread which came down from heaven.”
John 6:48 “I am the bread of life.”
John 6:51 “I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone
eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My
flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
John 8:12 “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the
world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of
life.”
John 10:7 “Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I
am the door of the sheep.”
John 10:9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will
go in and out and find pasture.”
John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for
the sheep.”
John 10:14 “I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known
by My own.”
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through Me.”
John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.”
John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I
in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
Jesus is more than a man…He is God come in the flesh. He came to save us
from the grasp of Satan. He came to bring us into an eternal relationship
with God the father.
