John 20:27–29 (NKJV)
27Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving but believing.”
28And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
29Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

This passage is powerful because it addresses doubt, faith, and the blessing of belief that transcends the need for physical evidence.

How do you see Jesus? To you is He just a great teacher, prophet, man, founder of a religion? Most people see Jesus only as a man because they want to bring Jesus down to their level. Because the Bible is not being taught from the pulpits of many churches, the Bible is not studied, faith is based more on feelings and emotions. There is a shallow form of Christianity roaming not only in the streets and homes but sadly found in the churches.

We are taught to look at the outside of people, but Jesus looks at the heart. What is taught in many churches is that we are not totally depraved or wicked. We are taught that we do not have to follow Jesus in every little detail and teaching. Jesus is not being taught. Jesus asked His apostle in Matthew 16:13-14 “…who do men say that I am…” The apostles gave many answers, only Peter gave the correct answer. “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

If Jesus is, and He is, the Christ, the Son of the living God then our complete wholehearted being should be given to Him. Our faith is built on Jesus and nothing else. The old hymn, “The Solid Rock”, emphasizes the reliance on Christ’s sacrifice and righteousness. This hymn stresses that in both life’s challenges and uncertainties, we find our hope and assurance in Jesus’ sacrifice and righteousness rather than our own efforts or the world’s promises.

OUR FAITH AND TRUST MUST BE IN CHRIST ALONE!
