2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV)
16All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
When I purchase a new vehicle, I am given an owner’s manual. I am also given some very specific instructions on how the vehicle works and what I need to do to keep it running to the best performance it can. God has given us an owner’s manual. Most take God’s owner’s manual and place in on the shelf and only open it when the preacher reads the scripture for His sermon.
Most people pay more attention to the vehicle owner’s manual than to God’s owner’s manual.
The Bible, penned by man, is God’s divine Word for us today. It is a cornerstone for understanding how Christians are to live in the world. The Bible is written by man, but it is God-breathed. It is God’s instructions for how we are to live.
It is not enough to just learn Scripture or sit in a service and listen to a preacher expound on the Word of God or sit in a small group study. We are to learn the Scripture and LIVE the Word of God. How many can quote Bible verses verbatim but live their lives according to worldly standards. Paul writes in verse 14, “But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.”
If you are a teacher or professor of the Word of God, your life should align itself with the Word of God. If you are a Christian, you are a walking witness to the world. You are a walking billboard of the Word of God. What are people learning about God from watching and listening to you?
In the USA we have entered a very difficult period of political uncertainty, economic challenges, and social unrest. The storm clouds are gathering. People need a foundation to stand on. Can they find that foundation in your life. Persecution will come to the followers of Christ. If your faith is shallow and there is no biblical foundation you will fall. I must stand and stand firm in the Word of God…His owner’s manual to me.
How can you actively integrate God’s Word into your daily life. Many are needing to hear God’s Word, and the hope found in it.
