1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a
roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Be sober…do not be intoxicated with the things of this world. Be controlled in
your thinking. Do not be indulgent in the things of this world. The vain
philosophies, ideas, and ways of the world are the ways of Satan. He
opposes God and His ways, His love. We are to fill our minds, hearts, and
spirit with God and His truth.
Satan deals in undercover warfare. He wears down the spirit of the follower
of Christ. It is important to stay in complete control of God. No one is able to
stand alone against the devil. Stay in the Word of God!
Never ever let your guard down. Continue to be aware of the presence of
God. We must resist the devil and be steadfast in our resistance. Satan
wants each follower of Christ to deny his or her faith.
Paul writes in Romans 6:13, “And do not present your members as
instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as
being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness to God.”
Remember Satan is lurking in the darkness. Live in the Light of Jesus. Do
not allow the ways of this world to invade your life and steal your joy.
Remember it is all about Jesus. Is what we do bringing glory to Jesus. If we
glorify Jesus, we bring glory and honor to God.
Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”
