Daily Devotion (October 5, 2024)
1 John 1:5–7 (NKJV) 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. Are you a Christian? Do you have fellowship with God and at the same time intentionally walk in the satanic darkness of this world. John says this is an impossibility. Where there is light their can be no darkness. Darkness is the absence of light. The very essence of light is God. God is the creator of light, Genesis 1:3. Wherever God is the glory of His light shines through. In Revelation 21:23 John writes, “The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.” Where God is there is no darkness. When we take our focus off Jesus, we then enter a world of darkness. Christians do sin. John writes in 1 John 1:8 “If we say we have not sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” But, in verse 9 john says, “If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”The question is are you professing Jesus as Savior with your mouth but in your heart still allowing Satan to rule?Paul writes in Romans 10:9–10 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”I’ve always said, “words are cheap.” Are you a Christians? Jesus said in John 13:35 “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”A false confession in Jesus leads oneself into Hell. When you move into the other side of life where will you be? Heaven or Hell.
