1 Peter 2:1–3 (NKJV)1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. This passage from 1 Peter 2:1-3 is a powerful reminder of the transformation that comes with accepting Christ. Just as a newborn craves milk for growth, we as Christians should crave the Word of God to nourish our spiritual lives.Having accepted Christ, you now set aside all worldly things such as the behaviors of the world, the negative thinking and behaviors and seek after the spiritual things of God. In the same way a newborn baby desires the nourishment of milk the newborn Christian desires the nourishment of the Word of God. Whatever things of this world that would defile or interfere with our relationship with God we are to do away with. We no longer love the things of this world that are in the grasp of Satan. We are to destroy whatever evil, whatever would come between us and God in our lives. We are to love God and therefore to love one another with a pure heart.
