Proverbs 13:21
“Evil pursues sinners, But to the righteous, good shall be repaid.”
What is evil? Put a “d” in front of evil and you have the Devil. Satan hates
God and therefore anything of God he hates. Satan will do anything to pull
the follower of Christ away from God. Satan will kill, steal, and destroy.
The life of a Christian, the one who truly follows Christ is not filled with the
things of this world. What we put in our lives influences us. Solomon wrote
great words of wisdom, but he did not follow them.
As followers of Christ, we must be watchful in our daily lives. We must be on
the watch for those who want to bring the wrong influence of this world into
our daily lives. The best way to protect ourselves is to walk closely with God
and listen to His voice.
The most important words we can hear today are the words of God! Start
every day with God. Walk through each day with God. End the day with God.
We remove ourselves from the blessing of God when we choose the world
over Him. Psalm 1:1–3 “Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of
the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the
scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he
meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of
water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not
wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”
Many choose a Christianity that promises Heaven but never rejects the
world. They do not prosper in the ways of God because they have not
rejected the ways of the world.
Death and destruction come to those who do not follow God! Read John
Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress” where Christian and Faithful enter into “Vanity
Fair.” It does not end well for Faithful.
The blessings of God are not the material things of this world. Psalm 13: 25
tells us, “The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul, but the stomach of
the wicked shall be in want.”
Galatians 6:7, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man
sows, that he will also reap.”
