John 4:24
“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Worship of God is not confined to a Sunday morning service. The worship of God moves from the corporate worship service to the world. Everywhere we go we are to worship God. Psalm 34:1 says, “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” We are to worship God continually.
God’s faithfulness in our lives leads us to faithful worship of God. Psalm 138:2 “I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.”
Worship of God should be seen in all aspects of our lives. To name a few
- Prayer: regular heartfelt conversations with God. These prayers are regular conversations with God as we journey through everyday life. Remember wherever we are God is with us.
- Meditation: Spending quiet time in meditation reflecting on scriptures and allowing God to connect with us on a deeper level.
- Music: Listening to music that exalts and glorifies God.
- Gratitude: Acknowledging and giving thanks for the blessings in your life.
- This is a big one—Obedience and living out our faith: Following God’s teaching and living a life that reflects our faith.
Worshiping God should fill every aspect of our lives. Our work, relationships, health and well-being, stewardship, personal growth, and involvement in our own community.
Worship is not just confined to a Sunday morning service. For the Christian it is a wonderful 24/7 experience.
